Cleveland has asked landscape architect James Corner to reinvent Public Square, really four smaller squares intersected by Superior and Ontario Aves. The city and nonprofits associate with this project want to bind the four squares together again, and Corner has given them three concepts: forest, frame, and thread. The most popular is thread, which to Corner means building a 70 foot tall hill over the four squares that residents can climb, while allowing traffic to flow underneath.
